SUSAN OBERMEYER STRAUSS ARTIST STATEMENT My work is a result of incubation and saturation of place real or imagined.Through sharing an intimate dialogue between paint, texture and light interlaced with iconic imagery, I ask what inspires and up-lefts the human spirit from the mundane. This leads me to explore both the tactile and the ethereal realms of consciousness. Making art is a lot like cooking for me, I sauté all of these ingredients and then add a touch of meditation and fantasy.
